Welcome to Pura Vida Rides, your provider of ground transportation services in Costa Rica. This document aims to clearly and precisely establish the Terms and Conditions that govern the use of our services. By accessing our website and using the services we offer, you agree to comply with and be bound by the terms and conditions outlined below. If you do not agree with these terms, we recommend refraining from using our services.


1. Definitions

"The Company": Refers to Pura Vida Rides, the entity responsible for providing ground transportation services within Costa Rica.

"Client": The person making a reservation to use any of the transportation services offered by the Company, whether for private transportation, airport transfers, or tourist transportation. The client can be an individual or a company requesting the service.

"Services": In this context, it refers to all the ground transportation services offered by the Company, including transfers, private transportation, and tourist transportation within Costa Rica.

"Reservation": The act by which the Client requests a transportation service, accepts the quote provided by the Company, and makes the corresponding payment according to the agreement with the Company.


2. Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

By contracting any of the services offered by Pura Vida Rides, the Client irrevocably accepts these Terms and Conditions in their entirety. If, for any reason, you do not agree with these terms, you should refrain from using our services. Pura Vida Rides reserves the right to update, modify, or change these terms at any time, and will notify Clients through the official communication channels of the Company to keep them informed of such changes.


3. Services Offered

Pura Vida Rides offers a variety of ground transportation services within Costa Rica, which include, but are not limited to the following:

Airport Transfers: This service is provided for transportation to and from Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO). The Client can request transportation from the airport to their destination in Costa Rica or vice versa.

Private Transportation: Exclusive transportation service available for individuals or small groups, from and to destinations within Costa Rica. This service is tailored to the specific needs of the Clients and offers more personalized transportation.

Tourist Transportation: Service that provides transportation to various tourist destinations within the country, such as beaches, national parks, volcanoes, and other points of interest in Costa Rica.

Service Categories:

Economy: Vehicles with capacity for up to 3 passengers. This service is suitable for small groups or individual transfers.

Standard: Vehicles or small buses with a capacity for between 4 to 25 passengers. This category is ideal for medium or large groups. The availability of this category may vary depending on the number of passengers and demand, so the Client should confirm availability at the time of booking.

3.1 Specific Details of the Services:

Airport Transfers: This service is available for all domestic and international flights arriving at Juan Santamaría International Airport or for transfers from other destinations to this airport. The pickup time will be coordinated with the Client based on the flight arrival time and the pickup time selected during the booking and flight arrivals.

Private Transportation: This service is available for any destination within Costa Rica. The Client can choose the pickup point and destination, which will be confirmed by the Company at the time of booking.

Tourist Transportation: The tourist transportation service includes routes to popular destinations such as famous beaches, national parks, volcanoes, and other points of interest. The Client should indicate their preferred destination at the time of booking to ensure the transportation matches their wishes.


4. Booking Process

Booking Request: The Client must complete the online booking form available on the Company’s website. The following details must be provided:

-Full name of the Client

-Email address and phone number

-Date and time of service request

-Number of passengers

-Pickup location and destination

-Additional relevant information (e.g., baby seats, special luggage, etc.)

Quotation: Once the booking request is received, Pura Vida Rides will send a quotation to the Client. This quotation will include the price for the requested service, depending on the selected vehicle category (Economy or Standard) and the number of passengers.

Booking Confirmation: After receiving the quotation, the Client must accept it and make the corresponding payment within 24 hours of receiving the quotation. Accepted payment methods include:

-PayPal.

-Credit/Debit Card.

-Bank Transfer or Sinpe Móvil for residents in Costa Rica.

Final Confirmation: After receiving the payment, the Company will send the Client a confirmation email. This email will include detailed information such as:

-Assigned vehicle number

-Driver information

-Pickup time and location

-Service details (including any special requests)

Confirmation Time: The booking confirmation will be sent to the Client within 4 hours of payment, during the Company’s working hours (08:00 AM - 06:00 PM local time).


5. Cancellation Policy

Client Cancellations:

Cancellations made at least 24 hours before the service will incur no penalty, and 100% of the paid amount will be refunded.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the service will incur a 100% penalty on the total booking amount.

In the case of a no-show (Client does not show up), the Company reserves the right to retain 100% of the paid amount as a penalty.

Company Cancellations:

If the Company must cancel a service due to unforeseen circumstances such as mechanical failures, extreme weather conditions, or force majeure, the Client will be informed at least 24 hours in advance. In such cases, the Company will offer the Client:

Rescheduling of the service at no additional cost.

A full refund if rescheduling is not viable for the Client.


6. Payment Policy

Payment must be made in full at the time of booking confirmation.

Payments can be made using the following methods:

Credit/Debit Card: The full amount will be charged at the time of booking.

PayPal: Payment must be completed through PayPal’s secure payment platform.

Bank Transfer or Sinpe Móvil (for residents in Costa Rica): The Client must make the payment via transfer to the bank account or Sinpe Móvil number provided by the Company. The service will be confirmed once the transfer is received.


7. Client Responsibilities

Accurate Information: The Client is responsible for providing accurate and complete information regarding the number of passengers, special requests (e.g., baby seats, wheelchair, etc.), and flight or pickup schedules.

Behavior During Transportation: The Client agrees to behave appropriately during the service, follow the driver’s instructions, and comply with safety rules. Failure to adhere to these rules may result in service cancellation without refund.

Luggage Responsibility: The Client is responsible for the care of their belongings during the service. The Company is not liable for lost, stolen, or damaged luggage during the journey.

Transporting Minors and Disabled Persons: If the Client is traveling with minors or persons with disabilities, they must inform the Company at the time of booking to ensure necessary arrangements for their safety and comfort.


8. Safety and Driving Regulations

Vehicle Conditions: All vehicles used for the Company’s transportation services comply with the safety requirements established by Law No. 8305 (Land Public Transit Law) and are subject to regular safety inspections.

Mandatory Seatbelt Use: All passengers must wear seat belts throughout the journey. The driver has the authority to refuse service if passengers do not comply with this rule.

Certified Drivers: All Company drivers are certified and trained in accordance with the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MOPT) regulations and comply with all Costa Rican traffic laws.


9. Applicable Laws and Jurisdiction

These Terms and Conditions will be governed and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Costa Rica, particularly those relating to land transportation, personal data protection, and commercial contracts. In case of any dispute, conflict, or claim arising from these terms, the parties will submit to the jurisdiction of the competent courts in the province of Alajuela, Costa Rica.
